Batteries
Supply, testing and fitting for cars, utes, trucks, boats and machinery. We stock Supercharge Batteries, including the TruckMaster dual alloy range.

Batteries, alternators, dual battery and lithium systems, vehicle solar and caravan wiring. We are the auto electricians on Darling Terrace, and we have been sorting out the Upper Spencer Gulf's charging and 12V problems for a quarter of a century.
Whyalla Battery Electric is, in our own words, a family owned and operated auto electrical business based in Whyalla, South Australia. Nathan and Theresa run it, and the name has been registered and trading here since February 2000.
Twenty six years in one town means most of the work walks in the door because somebody was told to come and see us. It also means we have seen the fault you are describing before, which is usually the difference between a diagnosis and a guess.
We are an in shop workshop, so the job comes to Darling Terrace rather than us coming to you. If you are travelling through and something has let go, ring first and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to it.

We are a REDARC and REDARC Solar stockist, and we carry Supercharge Batteries including the TruckMaster dual alloy range. If you have been told to get a specific unit fitted, there is a good chance it is already on the shelf.
Everything below is work we actually do in the shop at 7 Darling Terrace. If your job is not on the list, ring and ask, because the list is not the whole of it.
Supply, testing and fitting for cars, utes, trucks, boats and machinery. We stock Supercharge Batteries, including the TruckMaster dual alloy range.
Charging fault diagnosis, then repair or replacement fitted in the workshop. If the charging system is the problem, we will find it before you replace anything you did not need to.
Designed and installed for touring, work utes and trade vehicles, so your fridge, lights and accessories run without ever flattening the crank battery.
Lithium battery setups and vehicle solar charging, wired with proper fusing and isolation. We are a listed 12V Power installer for dual battery and lithium work.
Full rewires, repairs and fault finding on caravans, campers and camper trailers. Touring vans through Whyalla are a big part of what comes through the door.
Trailer plugs, Anderson plugs and connector brackets fitted properly to the tow bar, with the breakaway cable set up the way it should be.
Supplied and fitted flush into the dash so it looks factory, not bolted on. We are a REDARC stockist and carry the REDARC Solar range too.
Headlight globes, driving lights, work lights and trailer lights. Small jobs are welcome, and we will squeeze one in when we can.
Service and repair work on electric motors and generators, listed under our long standing Electric Motor Repairs and Generator Repairs trade category.
A note on what we do not do, so nobody drives across town for nothing: we are a workshop, not a mobile or roadside service, and we are closed weekends.

Where a caravan job usually starts. Corroded terminals and heat damaged connections behind a panel nobody has opened in years.
Whyalla sits on the run north and west, so a fair share of our week is somebody's van, camper or tug that has developed a fault a long way from home. Dead fridges, a solar setup that has stopped charging, a wiring harness that has taken a hit, lights that will not come on when the trailer is coupled.
We will fault find it, tell you what it will take, and where we can, we will get you moving again rather than parked up waiting.
βStaying back until 8pm to get the job done β¦ unreal in this day and age. All is working well with the solar now.β
Photographs from our own workshop. Not stock images of somebody else's engine bay.

We are an approved interlock installer and service provider for the Guardian alcohol interlock, and we are the Whyalla service centre listed on Guardian's own directory. That covers the whole of it: install, inspect, maintain and remove.
If you have been told you need one fitted to drive again, you do not have to go to Port Augusta or Adelaide for it. Ring us and we will talk you through what is involved.
